We check the things that actually matter
Anyone can post five stars and a stock photo. TradeWhizz verifies the real credentials — including the legal certificates the law requires — so “verified” means something.
Four checks behind every verified badge
A badge on TradeWhizz shows exactly what was confirmed — nothing more, nothing less.
Identity
A real, verified person behind the profile — so you know who's coming to your door.
Registered business
A legitimate, CIPC-registered business, not a fly-by-night with a cellphone number.
Statutory credential
For electricians, registration to issue a CoC (SANS 10142). For plumbers, PIRB registration. The legal proof most platforms never check.
Insurance
Public-liability cover, so you're protected if something goes wrong on the job.
The certificate is the point
Some work is governed by law. These are the credentials that protect your home, your insurance claim, and your resale.
Certificate of Compliance
In South Africa, electrical work legally requires a Certificate of Compliance (SANS 10142), which only a registered electrician can issue. We verify that a pro is registered to issue it.
PIRB registration & CoC
Geyser and plumbing work needs PIRB registration, and a registered plumber issues a PIRB Certificate of Compliance. We check the registration before the job, not after.
Proof in your hands
These aren't nice-to-haves — they're the law. TradeWhizz surfaces the credential up front, and the certificate is delivered through the job when the work is done.
It's the single biggest trust signal in the trade — and almost no one else shows it clearly. Badges and sample certificates shown for preview reflect only what was actually confirmed.
A badge means what it says
We don't invent credentials or bodies. Each verified badge maps to a specific check we completed — identity, CIPC registration, statutory credential, or public-liability cover. If we haven't confirmed something, we don't badge it. That's the whole point of the mark.
Verification, answered straight
What does "verified" mean on TradeWhizz?+
It means four specific checks were completed: identity, a CIPC-registered business, the statutory credential the trade legally requires, and public-liability insurance. A badge only ever appears for a check we actually confirmed.
Do you check the legal certificate, or just star ratings?+
The certificate. Electrical work in South Africa requires a Certificate of Compliance (SANS 10142), which only a registered electrician can issue — we verify that registration. Plumbing requires PIRB registration, and we check it before the job, not after.
What happens if a pro has not passed one of the checks?+
We don't badge it. We never invent credentials or certifying bodies. If we haven't confirmed something, it isn't shown — that's the entire point of the mark.
Are the pros shown on the site verified right now?+
TradeWhizz is in early access. The profiles currently displayed are sample listings that preview how a verified pro will appear, while we onboard real verified professionals. Badges and certificates shown in the preview reflect only what would actually be confirmed.
