Terms of Service

1. What TradeWhizz is

TradeWhizz is a marketplace and introducer. We help homeowners find and connect with tradies, and we provide tools to help you agree the work. We do not provide trade services ourselves — we don't do the electrical, plumbing, solar or other work, and we don't employ, manage or supervise the tradies listed on the platform. Tradies are independent businesses and individuals.

2. Verification is best-effort

We make reasonable, best-effort checks — for example checking a tradie's credential numbers (such as CoC, PIRB, SAQCC or PSIRA) against the relevant registers. A verified badge means a check was carried out; it is not a guarantee of the quality, safety, workmanship or outcome of any job. Always use your own judgement, ask questions, and check that a tradie is right for your specific job.

3. You contract directly with each other

When a homeowner and a tradie agree to work together, the contract for that work is directly between the two of you. TradeWhizz is not a party to it. Any dispute about the work, payment or conduct is between the homeowner and the tradie, though we'll help where we reasonably can.

Payments and on-platform transactions are not yet live. For now, you arrange payment directly with each other. We'll update these terms before any payment features go live.

4. Whizz-drafted agreements are tools, not legal advice

Whizz can help draft agreements, quotes and scopes of work to help both parties get on the same page. These are convenience tools to align expectations — they are not legal advice and are not a substitute for a professional opinion. You're responsible for reading, understanding and agreeing to anything before you rely on it. If a job is high-value or high-risk, get independent advice.

5. Reviews must be genuine

Reviews only mean something if they're real. You may only post reviews based on genuine, first-hand experience. Fake, bought, incentivised or malicious reviews are not allowed and may be removed, along with the account behind them.

6. Acceptable use

When using TradeWhizz, you agree not to:

• Use the platform for fraud, misrepresentation or any unlawful purpose.
• Harass, abuse, threaten or harm other users.
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data or listings from the platform.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Post false, misleading or infringing content.

7. Tradie obligations

If you list as a tradie, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, up-to-date information about your business, identity and credentials.
• Hold and maintain the licences, registrations and certificates the law requires for your trade (for example a valid CoC where electrical or plumbing work requires one).
• Do the work you agree to lawfully, safely and to the applicable standards.
• Keep your verification details current and tell us if anything changes.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, TradeWhizz is not liable for the acts, omissions, workmanship or conduct of any tradie or homeowner, or for any loss or damage arising from work arranged through the platform or from your reliance on Whizz-drafted tools. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

9. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold TradeWhizz harmless from claims, losses and costs arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with other users.

10. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access to TradeWhizz — including for breach of these terms, suspected fraud or abuse, or to protect other users. You can stop using the service and close your account at any time.

11. Early-access / preview disclaimer

TradeWhizz is an early-access preview. Features may change, break or be removed as we build, and some listings may be sample data while we onboard real verified pros. We make no uptime or availability guarantee and may update the service (and these terms) as it evolves.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape.
